Synchronize your Safari bookmark file between different Macs with a FTP or FTPS server.
Requirements & Installation
• Safari
• Use any webspace where you have FTP or FTPS access with write permission
No need to install anything.
It's quite handy to put the files of the Scripts folder into your AppleScript menu or into SafariScript.
Usage
Open SafariDepot and enter the connection data where you want to put your bookmark file
and press the "Save Connection" button.
Now press the "Upload" button to transfer your local bookmark file to the server.
Pressing the "Download" button will fetch the file from the server.
Upload will replace an existing bookmark file on the server.
Download will create a copy of your current local bookmark file before replacing it with the server version.
Bookmark file and copy are located in ~/Library/Safari (where ~is your home folder).
Download will restart Safari if it's running.
If you want to run the upload or download automatically then
• define "Download Safari Bookmarks" or "Upload Safari Bookmarks" as a login item in your System Prefences
• or tell Mac OS X to run it periodically. You can do that for example with cron (in the Terminal) or using a nice GUI with CronniX
